Candidate filing for O’Fallon’s April 4 municipal election ended Tuesday, and two city councilmen, Rose Mack (Ward 2) and Mike Pheney (Ward 5), remain unchallenged in their races.

Incumbent city councilman Dave Hinman faces competition from Arnie (A.C.) Dienoff and Jimmy Loveless for the Ward 1 seat.

The Ward 3 seat also has three candidates: incumbent John Haman, Jr., Stacey Decker, and Reid Cranmer.

With Howell running for mayor, there will be no incumbent in the Ward 4 race, which will be between Jeff Kuehn and Dave Goewert.

With no more candidates coming forward, first-day filers Bob Howell (currently the Ward 4 councilman) and incumbent mayor Bill Hennessy will face off in the mayor’s race.
