Each year, seniors in the Wentzville School District compete for scholarships from the City of Wentzville’s Water Division. This year, three $750 scholarships were awarded to one student from each of the district’s three high schools.
As one of the only fine-arts related scholarships in the area, students paint fire hydrants in celebration of National Water Week. First-place winners from each school are then selected to each receive the scholarship.
This year’s first-place winners were:
- Katie Dains, Holt High School
- Emilee Reed, Liberty High School
- Shauna Rainey, Timberland High School
The fire hydrants will be on display below the water tower on East Pearce Boulevard until the end of May.
