Winners Named in Wentzville Fire Hydrant Painting Contest

Water Division Scholarship Winners

Each year, seniors in the Wentzville School District compete for scholarships from the City of Wentzville’s Water Division. This year, three $750 scholarships were awarded to one student from each of the district’s three high schools.

As one of the only fine-arts related scholarships in the area, students paint fire hydrants in celebration of National Water Week. First-place winners from each school are then selected to each receive the scholarship.

This year’s first-place winners were:

  • Katie Dains, Holt High School
  • Emilee Reed, Liberty High School
  • Shauna Rainey, Timberland High School

The fire hydrants will be on display below the water tower on East Pearce Boulevard until the end of May.
