Wentzville Woman Killed in I-64 Crash with Suspected Drunk Driver

A 65-year-old woman from Wentzville was fatally injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 64 Tuesday afternoon after the SUV she was driving was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pamela J. Yaeger of Wentzville was driving a 2013 Nissan Xterra westbound on Interstate 64 west of Highway 94 yesterday just before 4 p.m.

Yaeger’s SUV was struck from behind by a 2011 Dodge Avenger driven by Henry D. Evans, 45, of St. Louis.

The force of impact made the SUV hit the concrete median and it rolled over, eventually coming to rest on the passenger side.

Pamela Yaeger was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV, Melissa A. Yaeger, 36, also of Wentzville, sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital.

Evans was not injured. According to MSHP records, Evans was arrested for felony DWI-alcohol and drugs and involuntary manslaughter and was placed on a 24-hour hold at the St. Charles County Jail.
