The Wentzville School District has been recognized by the Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA) for its efforts to inform its community across multiple channels.
Each year, MOSPRA gives its members the opportunity to have their work evaluated by PR professionals and measured against industry standards. The WSD was awarded First Place for its District Facebook page in the Social Media category. “Wentzville went above and beyond,” commented one of the judges with regard to the District Facebook page. “They have clearly identified the needs of their audience and the quality of graphics and video is really well done.”
The WSD also received Awards of Merit for the Proposition E 2018 communication campaign in the Golden Achievement category, as well as a video about the District’s annual Back to School Fair in the Video category.
“We are humbled and honored to accept this recognition on behalf of the WSD,” said Chief Communications Officer Mary LaPak. “It is not only an affirmation that our efforts to keep our stakeholders informed are effective, but also a reflection of the tremendous and inspiring work our staff and students are engaged in every day that we are fortunate to have an opportunity to share.”
Each submission in the program from school districts across the state was judged by PR professionals both inside and outside the public education arena. “Exceptional work,” said one of the judges with regard to the WSD Proposition E communication materials. “Terrific use of data to target audiences and tailor communication strategies to reach them.
MOSPRA President Paul Tandy said: “The MOSPRA Communications Awards Program not only recognizes exemplary school public relations programs, but also provides valuable feedback from public relations professionals to help our members continue to improve their work. Congratulations to this year’s honorees on this well-deserved recognition.” The awards were distributed at the MOSPRA Fall Conference in Independence, Missouri, October 25-26.
