A chain-reaction crash across four lanes of Interstate 70 injured two Lake Saint Louis drivers and a Wentzville driver Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, six vehicles–with drivers from O’Fallon, Lake Saint Louis, Wentzville, St. Louis, and Troy–were involved in a crash on Interstate 70 east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m.
A 2011 Acura driven by 27-year-old Jeff K. Hughes struck the rear of a 2016 Ford Focus driven by Kirsten A. Alsup, 22, of Lake Saint Louis.
Hughes’ Acura then traveled into the next lane and struck a 2008 Dodge Magnum driven by 26-year-old Deandre C. Ingram, Jr. from St. Louis. The Dodge then traveled into the path of a vehicle in the next lane over and was hit by a different Acura, this one driven by Audrey T. Thompson, 53, of Lake Saint Louis.
Thompson’s Acura then traveled in the next lane over and hit a 1995 Ford F250 driven by Michael R. Reminds, 40, of Troy.
Another car, a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by 36-year-old David C. Oakes of Wentzville struck the rear of Thompson’s Acura.
Alsup, Ingram, Thompson, and Oakes all sustained moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles. All the drivers were wearing safety belts.
