Wentzville Historical Society meeting honors baseball legend Leon Anderson


The Wentzville Historical Society will hold its General Meeting on Tuesday, June 18, when the grandsons of Leon Anderson will share their memories of their grandfather and his baseball career. Leon Anderson was a center fielder who played for the St. Louis Sports and the St. Louis Bees (industrial league teams) from 1931 to 1944. In 1984 he was honored at Busch Stadium. Come to the meeting to find out why he was called “Roadrunner”!

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a catered meal for $15 at the Green Lantern Senior Center (Wentzville’s first high school), 506 South Linn, Wentzville. The program will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m.
