An employee of the Wentzville Best Buy store confirmed to 70 West Sentinel that the store will be closing.
The big-box electronics store will close for good on October 28. Sales are planned through October to liquidate inventory and fixtures.
There are no plans for the store to relocate in Wentzville, the employee said.
Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione confirmed the store’s closure on social media, saying that it was due to a rent increase. When responding to a Facebook posting, he said, ” . . . there’s not much we can do. Hopefully it will not be vacant long.”
