Weekend Events, June 3, 4, and 5: Wentzville Rod Run, Street Truck Pull

Looking for some fun things to do this weekend? 70 West Sentinel has rounded up some family-friendly activities in St. Charles County, including Food Truck Frenzy at the Sports Park and a family fishing day in O’Fallon.

Friday, June 3

  • Food Truck Frenzy, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sports Park, 3589 Highway K. Food trucks and live music with Comin’ Up Empty.
  • Bingo, doors open 5 p.m., games start at 7 p.m., American Legion Post 323, Wentzville. Smoking and nonsmoking available, 50/50, attendance prizes, concessions available.
  • Charity Rod Run, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Pearce Boulevard, Wentzville.
  • Public Stargazing, 7 p.m., Broemmelsiek Park. Weather permitting, telescopes available. Free, registration required for large groups.
  • Free Movie in the Park: “E.T.” 8:15 p.m., Heartland Park, 100 William Dierberg Drive, Wentzville. Concessions available. Gates open at 7:15 p.m.
  • Friday Night Mountain Bike Rides, 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Broemmelsiek Park, 1795 Highway DD, Defiance. Challenging rides open to experienced cyclists – helmet and light required. Register online.

Saturday, June 4

  • Lake Saint Louis Farmers and Artists Market, 8 a.m. to noon. Meadows shopping center parking lot.
  • Yoga in the Park, 9 a.m., Heartland Park, Wentzville. Free. Open to all levels.
  • Saturday Morning Chess Club, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Middendorf-Kredell Branch Library, 2750 Highway K, O’Fallon. Drop in for a friendly game of chess, no registration required.
  • Lego Jr. Club, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Corporate Parkway Library, Wentzville. Ages 3-6 listen to a story and build with Legos.
  • Library Obstacle Course, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Middendorf-Kredell Library, O’Fallon. Test your library skills, for preschoolers and school-age kids.
  • St. Louis Renaissance Festival Preview, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Rotary Park, Wentzville. A sampling of what’s to come when the festival moves to the fall. Live entertainment, concessions, vendors. Free admission and parking.

  • Youth Lock-in, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Youth Activity Park, 7801 Highway N, Dardenne Prairie. All-night access to the park, competitions, pizza party at midnight. $20. Register online.
  • Street Truck Pull, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wentzville VFW Post 5327, 1414 Highway Z.  Free to watch, concessions available for purchase.
  • Free concert, “Fanfare” performing at 7 p.m., Windjammer Point, Lake Saint Louis.

Sunday, June 5

  • Wentzville Community Club Flea Market, 6 a.m., 354-388 West Main Street, Wentzville. 400 vendor spaces. No animals allowed.
  • Family Fishing Day, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Fort Zumwalt Park, 1000 Jessup Drive, O’Fallon. Free for kids 12 and under with a parent.
  • St. Louis Renaissance Festival Preview, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Rotary Park, Wentzville. A sampling of what’s to come when the festival moves to the fall. Live entertainment, concessions, vendors. Free admission and parking.
