Weekend Events, August 5, 6, and 7: Wentzville Rod Run, Talent Show

Looking for some fun things to do this weekend? 70 West Sentinel has rounded up some family-friendly activities in St. Charles County, including a free movie at Boulevard Park in Lake Saint Louis and a free yoga class at Heartland Park in Wentzville.

Friday, August 5

  • Food Truck Frenzy, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fort Zumwalt Park, O’Fallon. Music and food trucks.
  • Bingo, doors open 5 p.m., games start at 7 p.m., American Legion Post 323, Wentzville. Smoking and nonsmoking available, 50/50, attendance prizes, concessions available.
  • Rod Run, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Pearce Boulevard, Wentzville. $10 donation to cruise, donations benefit DARE programs.
  • Public Stargazing – Mars Featured Planet, 7 p.m., Broemmelsiek Park. Weather permitting, telescopes available. Free, registration required for large groups.
  • MOVIE: “Inside Out,” approximately 8:30 p.m., Boulevard Park Amphitheater, Lake Saint Louis
  • Friday Night Mountain Bike Ride, Matson Hill Park, Defiance. Challenging ride, must have bike helmet and light. Register online.

Saturday, August 6

  • Lake Saint Louis Farmers and Artists Market, 8 a.m. to noon. Meadows shopping center parking lot.
  • Back to School Fair for Wentzville School District students, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Holt High School, Wentzville. Pancake breakfast, free school supplies.
  • Yoga in the Park, 9 a.m., Heartland Park, Wentzville. Free yoga class, open to all levels. Bring a mat or a towel.
  • Saturday Morning Chess Club, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Middendorf-Kredell Branch Library, 2750 Highway K, O’Fallon. Drop in for a friendly game of chess, no registration required.
  • Lego Club Jr., 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Corporate Parkway Library, Wentzville. Listen to a story and build with Legos. Ages 3-6.
  • Self Defense for Women, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Middendorf-Kredell Library, O’Fallon. Register online.
  • Youth Lock-In at the Youth Activity Park, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday. Competitions, pizza party at midnight. $20. Register online.
  • Everybody’s Got a Super Talent, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Deer Run Branch Library. Show off your talent. Register online.
