Victim of Shooting During Police Pursuit Through Wentzville is in Stable Condition, Police Say

A woman who was the victim of a shooting on Interstate 70 in Wentzville Wednesday night is in critical but stable condition, police confirmed. Another victim in Warren County sustained a minor gunshot wound.

Captain Kevin Pyatt of the Wentzville Police Department spoke with 70 West Sentinel. He said that investigation of the incident is being handled by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Warren County Record reported that as many as six vehicles were hit by gunfire in during a police pursuit that began in Warren County around 6 p.m.. Police pursued the suspect east on Interstate 70 through St. Charles County and into St. Louis County. The suspect crashed his vehicle near Lambert International Airport and was apprehended by police, Fox2 News reported.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the suspect was a 22-year-old man from the Kansas City area who was upset and firing randomly at cars.
