Two Teens Charged in Theft of Firearm from Vehicle in Lake Saint Louis

Two teenaged suspects have been charged with stealing a firearm out of a vehicle on Berry Court in Lake Saint Louis.

Lake Saint Louis Police arrested Nathan R. Shirrell, 18, and Austin Bradley Lutes, 18, for the theft of a handgun on January 16. According to police, the teens admitted to stealing from several vehicles on the street, including a white pickup truck from which Lutes took a Glock 9mm handgun, magazines, and ammunition.

Lutes told police that the pistol was later taken from him by another subject.

Shirrell, who lives in St. Peters, and Lutes, of St. Charles, were each charged by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with one felony count of stealing a firearm. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only. Shirrell posted bond on February 16.
