A crane had to be used to remove a truck that left the roadway near Lake Saint Louis Monday afternoon.

Kyekair Canada, 27, was driving a 2017 International Durastar eastbond near Lake Saint Louis Boulevard just after 2 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Canada was unable to maintain a single lane, went off the right-hand side of the roadway, and struck the ground.

Canada was not injured, but a passenger, Justin D. Mason, 26, also of St. Louis, sustained minor injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital-Lake Saint Louis. Neither Mason nor Canada were wearing safety belts.

MSHP online records indicate that Canada will face charges of driving while intoxicated (drug). MSHP noted that Canada also has a warrant out of St. Louis County for non support.
