Wentzville police and local restaurants are working together to raise money for Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) on Monday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 11.
Wentzville police officers will collect tips and help serve restaurant guests on Monday, July 9 at the Culver’s restaurant at 1898 Wentzville Parkway from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Texas Roadhouse, 15150 Veterans Memorial Parkway, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Wentzville police also have two locations set for Wednesday, July 11:
- Buffalo Wild Wings, 1285 W Pearce Boulevard – 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Applebee’s, 1987 Wentzville Parkway – 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Wentzville PD Tip-A-Cop® is part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) campaign. LETR, which includes an international series of relay runs and special events like Tip-A-Cop®, is presented by more than 97,000 law enforcement officers worldwide to help raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics.
The guiding purpose of the event is to raise funds and awareness for more than 15,000 athletes who participate in the Missouri program. Special Olympics is law enforcement’s charity of choice, not only in Missouri, but throughout the United States and in 45 countries worldwide. In 2017, Missouri’s Torch Run was ranked No. 7 in the world based on gross dollars raised.
