Three Teens Charged in Pokemon-Related Armed Robbery

Pokemon Go Robbery Suspects

Charges have been issued against two 18-year-olds and one 17-year-old in  an armed robbery early this morning in O’Fallon. Police believe that the teens used the smartphone app Pokémon Go to target their victim.

Shane Michael Backer, 18, from Wentzville, Brett William Miller, 17, from St. Peters, and Jamine James D. Warner, 18, of O’Fallon were charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action, both felonies.

Bond was set at $100,000.

O’Fallon Police Sergeant Bill Stringer confirmed to 70 West Sentinel that the fourth suspect was a minor, a 16-year-old male.
