Three from O’Fallon Injured When Car Goes Underneath Semi

Three men from O’Fallon sustained only moderate or minor injuries when a car went underneath a semi in a crash on Interstate 70 east of the Cave Springs exit early Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Brantley R. Clark, 22, was driving a 2001 Mustang westbound on I-70 just before 2 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and travelled underneath a Freightliner tractor-trailer being driven by a 45-year-old woman from Lexington, Indiana.

The roof of the Mustang impacted the trailer.

Clark sustained moderate injuries and was taken to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles.

Two passengers in the Mustang, Jesse J. Delcambre, 21, and Jacob A. Yerkey, 18, sustained minor injuries and were also taken to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles. All three were wearing safety devices.

The truck driver was not injured.

Clark was charged with driving while intoxicated.
