T.R. Hughes Ballpark No More – Now It’s CarShield Field

O’Fallon’s professional baseball stadium, home to the River City Rascals for 17 seasons, will no longer be called T.R. Hughes Ballpark.

The Rascals have announced a partnership with CarShield, a vehicle service plan provider based in St. Peters, to rename the ballpark CarShield Field.

In a press release, Nick Hamilton, part-owner of CarShield, said, “We’ve always been huge fans of the Rascals and the ballpark. When the opportunity presented itself to help benefit the team and the community, we knew we couldn’t pass it up.”

Opening night for the Rascals is Friday, May 20. Some of the promos planned for this season are:

  • Jackpot giveaway and helicopter candy drop on Friday, May 20
  • Superhero night, May 28
  • Star Wars night, June 12
  • Chris Carpenter appearance, June 25
  • Harry Potter night, July 16
  • Wille McGee bobble head night, August 19
