SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis Bans Pokemon Hunting

SSM St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis

SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis announced yesterday that it was banning Pokemon hunting on hospital property.

“Our patients need rest and Pokemon players can disrupt our ability to deliver exceptional care. We encourage users of the app to play safely in appropriate public areas,” the hospital posted on its Facebook page.

The Pokemon Go game, an app for smartphones that was released just this month, allows its players to capture virtual “pocket monsters” through the use of GPS and smartphone cameras. It has, however, not been without controversy – it has been blamed for causing accidents and for being used to target victims of crime.
