Two big projects will be adding patient rooms, services, and doctors’ offices at the Lake Saint Louis and Wentzville campuses of SSM St. Joseph Health Center.
SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis will see the addition of a three-story patient tower that will give the facility all-private patient rooms. A two-story centralized outpatient diagnostic testing center will feature a lower level with expanded laboratory services, as well as expanded pharmacy services. Additional parking will be also be part of the project.
” . . . Our vision for the future of SSM St. Joseph Hospital West has become reality,” said Lisle Wescott, president, SSM St. Joseph Hospital West. “This expansion allows us to continue to meet the growing needs of our community.”
The 74,000 square foot patient tower will feature:
- 84 patient beds
- A dialysis center
- A physical therapy gym
- Additional nursing and medical support areas
- Larger windows to let in more natural daylight
The additions to SSM St. Joseph Hospital West should be completed by summer of 2017. The hospital does not expect the construction to have any impact on patients or patient care.
SSM St. Joseph has recently broken ground on a new facility at the Wentzville campus, and is also moving forward on a new facility at the former Columns Banquet Center in St. Charles.
“These facilities also will dramatically improve the patient experience while providing convenient access to expanded primary services, specialty services, and state-of-the-art imaging services,” SSM spokesman Heather Allen told 70 West Sentinel.
The proposed Wentzville facility, the “Wentzville Healthplex,” will house medical offices. An earlier plan for this location, with emergency facilities and a helipad, was dropped.
