Six teen from Wentzville were injured, two of them seriously, in a one-car crash early Monday morning on Highway D.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2009 Pontiac G8 was eastbound on Route D west of Benne Road at 1:50 a.m. The vehicle, which was being driven by 19-year-old Rontrell C. Nunn-Fairer, was traveling too fast for conditions, and Nunn-Fairer lost control.
The vehicle travelled off the left side of the road, where it struck a ditch and overturned. The driver, who was wearing a safety device, sustained minor injuries, as did a 17-year-old male passenger in the vehicle who was also wearing a safety device. Both were treated and released at the scene.
Two 17-year-old female passengers who were not wearing safety devices sustained serious injuries. One was transported by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. The other was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by ambulance.
A 16-year-old male passenger who was wearing a safety device sustained moderate injuries and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis. A 16-year-old male passenger who was not wearing a safety device sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital.
