The St. Charles City-County Library District’s summer reading program “On Your Mark, Get Set . . . Read!” has a special incentive for participants who sign up in June – a chance to win Cardinals tickets!
The library district added its adult winter reading program to the popular children’s summer reading program in 2012, so the fun is now open to all ages.
Participants print out a game board online or pick one up at any library branch location. Boxes are then checked off for reading for a set amount of time, for participating in library programs, or for engaging in other activities like outdoor exercise.
When 20 boxes are completed, participants return their game cards to the library for prizes. Anyone who finishes their game board earlier can print out a bonus board for even more prizes. Participants who register by June 30 are in the running for a drawing for free Cardinals baseball tickets, and a grand prize drawing for 135 Kindle Fire tablets will be held after August 1.
More than 35,000 St. Charles residents–kids, teens, and adults–participate in the summer reading program.
