POW/MIA Remembrance Day ceremony set for Sept. 20 in O’Fallon

On Friday, September 20, at 7 p.m., O’Fallon’s annual POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on behalf of the nearly 90,000 American troops from foreign wars who remain as prisoners of war or unaccounted for, and the families who are waiting for their return.

The ceremony will be held at O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk, 800 Veterans Memorial Parkway, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.

Welcoming remarks will be delivered by O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy, and the keynote speaker will be Pat Turner, Vietnam Veteran and pastor of Living Word School. The ceremony is hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 458 and Am Vets Post 106, and includes posting of the colors, candle lighting, the laying of the wreath, a rifle salute and Taps. Music will be provided by the Living Word Christian School Band, and refreshments will be provided by Heaven Scent Bakery.
