Portion of East Terra Lane to open as one-way westbound road on August 1

One Way Sign

Starting Wednesday, August 1 (late in the day), East Terra Lane in O’Fallon, Missouri, will reopen at Hilltop Way. The newly-opened road will be opened to westbound traffic only from T.R. Hughes to Main Street. The change is permanent and message boards will be in place to help drivers. Additionally, the new Vine Street connection to the Sonderen Loop road is currently open to traffic.

East Terra, the City’s north outer road, was partially closed on June 18 from Hilltop Way to Main Street, including access to Sonderen, to allow construction of a new I-70 ramp to take place as part of the I-70 corridor improvements. After August 1, construction will immediately shift to East Terra just west of T.R. Hughes, where barriers are already in place. This section will be worked on until November/December to construct the westbound slip ramp to exit I-70 onto East Terra Lane. Westbound one-way traffic will remain open during this work. Work on the south outer road also continues and should be completed before the end of the year. Information and a map of the area showing closures and detours will be provided on the City’s website,

“We thank our residents, drivers, local businesses and the Fort Zumwalt School District for their patience and cooperation as these important improvements are made to the I-70 corridor,” said O’Fallon’s Mayor, Bill Hennessy.
