ORIGINAL POST: Calyb V. Musgrave, 23, of St. Charles, is in custody after leading state troopers on a pursuit from Columbia on Interstate 70, striking a state trooper’s vehicle and a deputy sheriff’s vehicle in Danville, MO, and finally crashing in Wentzville.
Sergeant Scott White of Troop F of the Missouri State Highway Patrol told 70 West Sentinel that the pursuit began about 1 p.m. Musgrave, who was driving a Chevy Avalance, refused to stop when a trooper tried to pull him over near the 144 mile marker near Columbia in order to investigate a possible crime in another jurisdiction.
Troopers pursued Musgrave eastbound. Musgrave attempted to exit in Danville, where he struck the police vehicles. He ran over a spike strip at the 202 mile marker and lost a tire, White said.
Musgrove’s vehicle left the roadway at the 207 mile marker, where it overturned and came to rest in the median at 2:14 p.m. (Editor’s note: the original posting of this story referenced an MSHP crash report that is no longer available.)
Musgrave sustained moderate injuries and was taken to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis, where he was treated before being taken into custody.
Charges are pending.
