Police Pursuit of Wentzville Best Buy Theft Suspects Ends in East St. Louis

Two suspects that police say stole $1,500 worth of electronics from the Wentzville Best Buy store fled on eastbound Interstate 70 and led police from several departments all the way into East St. Louis.

Major Paul West of the Wentzville Police Department told 70 West Sentinel that no Wentzville officers were involved in the chase. “It was picked up by St. Charles County,” he said. Once the suspects left St. Charles County, county officers broke off pursuit. The chase was then continued by St. Ann and Normandy police.

According to the St. Charles County Missouri Scanner Traffic Facebook page, the suspects’ vehicle struck another vehicle during the chase. On the scanner feed, someone can be heard saying that the fleeing suspects “hit a vehicle and kept going. Took his mirror off.”

Fox2News reported that the suspects’ vehicle crashed in East St. Louis, where the suspects were apprehended.

No other details are available at this time.
