City documents had identified the restaurant only as a “pizza restaurant,” but when asked by members of the commission, the developer revealed that the restaurant would be a Marco’s Pizza.

The nearest Marco’s Pizza locations are at 1820 Lake Saint Louis Boulevard in Lake Saint Louis and 8201 Mexico Road in O’Fallon.

On its website, Marco’s Pizza claims to be “the fastest-growing pizza company in the U.S,” with 800 locations in 30 states. It was founded in Toledo, Ohio in 1978 by Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco. Along with its signature Ah!thentic® Italian pizza, the restaurant offers hot sub sandwiches, salads and Cheezybread for carryout and delivery.

The Wentzville Bluffs location will include a pickup window.

Plans for the proposed Marco’s Pizza now go to the Wentzville Board of Aldermen for final approval.
