One-Mile family-friendly race features obstacle course, swag, Party on the Lawn

RSC Challenge Run

Sign up for the ultimate family-friendly race, the RSC Challenge Run for ages 5 and up. The one-mile out-and-back race gets underway at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1, outside the Renaud Spirit Center, 2650 Tri Sports Circle, in O’Fallon.

Adding to the fun, the event features parallel obstacle courses, one for kids and the other for adults. Participants will be released in heats to avoid lines at the obstacles and each runner who crosses the finish line will receive a medal.

Registration is required and limited to 300 participants, and the entry fee for early registration through May 18 is $25 for O’Fallon residents and $29 for non-residents. An additional $5 will be charged for registration from May 19 – 31, and a $10 late fee will be applied to Race Day registration on June 1. Race swag includes a performance-fit shirt available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed after May 18, and shirts are not guaranteed to be available to Race Day entrants, so please register early!

After the race, everyone is invited to stay and enjoy the free Party on the Lawn which includes a showing of the LEGO Ninjago Movie at about 8 p.m. No registration is required for the Party on the Lawn, which includes the Bubble machine, a balloon artist and face painting. Food will be available for purchase from Papa John’s Pizza, Chick-fil-A and others. And the RSC will offer 10% off on new memberships throughout the weekend, June 1-3.
