One dead, two seriously injured after truck crash late Saturday

(UPDATE: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported just before noon Tuesday that officials were not aware of the third victim and that Eynard’s body was not recovered until Sunday afternoon. -Ed.)

A 28-year-old man from O’Fallon is dead after a one-vehicle crash late Saturday north of Orchard Farm.

The deceased, Kevin M. Eynard, was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Travis D. Moore, 27, of St. Charles.

Moore was driving eastbound on Highway 94 east of Route V at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, he lost control of the truck and went off the right-hand side of the roadway where the truck overturned. Eynard, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene (after being located by searchers the following day).

A passenger in the truck, Joseph A. Olivastro, 31, of O’Fallon, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital.

Moore also sustained serious injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph – St. Charles. According to MSHP online records, Moore faces possible charges of DWI, DWI-death of another, and second degree assault.

The three men were not wearing seat belts.
