The items will be boxed for shipping to troops on Saturday, September 8. To cover the cost of shipping, donations of $17.35 per box for a “Stamp of Support” are needed. “Stamp of Support” donations should be made payable to H.E.RO.E.S Care, and they can be dropped off, or mailed to, O’Fallon City Hall, 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. Last year, O’Fallon sent 121 boxes to troops overseas.

“Our troops overseas deeply appreciate knowing that America remembers them as they serve, and they also welcome the practical, everyday items from home, items that are difficult to come by while stationed overseas,” said Kathy Halstead, O’Fallon’s Volunteer Services Manager. “Donations from this annual drive will be sorted, packaged and shipped as part of National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 8, which is one of several projects to be completed by caring citizens. We’re also encouraging people to contribute signed ‘thank you’ notes and cards for the troops, which will be placed into each box shipped.”
