O'Fallon 5K

Now in its 32nd year, O’Fallon’s Fourth of July Firecracker Run returns this year with a 10K, 5K, and one-mile fun runs. New this year is a 10K stroller category.

Registration is now open for the event, which is organized by the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries and sponsored by Mercy.

The race begins at 7 a.m. at CarShield Field (T.R. Hughes Ballpark), 900 T.R. Hughes Blvd.

“The Firecracker Run committee is hard at work planning the details of this year’s race and has already made a couple changes from last year including changing the race course for all of the races, adding a 10K Stroller category, and fresh new ideas to make the event even better this year,” said Amos Reed, Committee Chair.

Participants can register online at or in person at the O’Fallon Chamber office at 2145 Bryan Valley Commercial Drive in O’Fallon. All runners receive free entrance into the Runners Only Area with refreshments and a Health Expo. The first 2000 runners will receive a t-shirt.

Volunteers are needed for the Firecracker Run, and receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and breakfast. Call 636-725-0231 to volunteer.

After the Firecracker Run, the Heritage & Freedom Fest parade steps off at 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds from the event benefit the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries, a non-profit organization that promotes the economic vitality of O’Fallon and the St. Charles County Region by engaging its members in networking and educational opportunities, while advocating for pro-business public policy.
