Also on Friday, November 24, O’Fallon’s Celebration of Lights display in Fort Zumwalt Park opens for the season with twinkling holiday lights and captivating holiday scenes and nativities along a one-mile route.
New this year, see the reindeer flight school, a scene from How the Grinch Stole Christmas and a display inspired by a traditional Christmas song. Returning favorites include oversized nutcracker soldiers and the Polar Express. Patrons can add to the fun by tuning to the music on 90.3 FM as they enter the park.
“Touring our City’s lights display and is an outstanding way for families to get into the magic of the holidays, especially if they have out-of-town visitors,” said Marsha Seymour, O’Fallon’s Manager of Tourism and Festivals.
The Celebration of Lights will continue nightly through December 30, except for Christmas, December 25, when it will be closed. The drive-through will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Tuesdays (except December 12) admission is $7 for all non-commercial vehicles. And Wednesday through Sunday, drivers can receive $1 off the admission price with donations of canned or boxed food for local food pantries.
The drive-through is not available on Mondays in December or Tuesday, December 12. On December 11 and 12, the park will be closed to vehicles but open to pedestrians from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the Old Fashioned Holiday Stroll walk-through; the cost is $3 for ages 3 and up.
