O’Fallon Police Say Shooting of Juvenile Was Drug-Related; Suspects in Custody

Two suspects are in custody after a juvenile was shot last night in O’Fallon.

Colonel Roy Joachimstaler, O’Fallon’s Chief of Police, issued a press release Friday morning about the shooting, which happened in the 1600 block of McQuade Drive.

“At approximately 5:48 p.m.,  the O’Fallon Police Department received a call to respond to an area hospital regarding a gunshot victim,” Joachimstaler said.

Police investigated, and determined that the incident occurred during a drug transaction. Multiple individuals were involved, and it is believed that an adult suspect shot the juvenile, who was inside a vehicle.

Charges are pending for two suspects who are now in custody, and a third suspect is still at large, police said.

The juvenile who was injured was transported to  the hospital and is in stable condition.

Anyone with additional information should call the O’Fallon Police Department at (636) 240-3200. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
