O’Fallon police looking for suspect charged with domestic assault, armed criminal action

The O’Fallon Police Department is asking the public’s help to locate Malik Payne, 23, of St. Louis, after a domestic assault incident in O’Fallon on April 29.

O’Fallon police reported that they received a 911 call for shots fired at 9:30 Monday evening in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. “Upon officer’s arrival, a female reported a domestic incident that resulted in her ex-boyfriend firing shots at her as she sought cover in a nearby apartment building,” police said.

A suspect fled in a white sports car, which was later found in north St. Louis. A suspect was taken into custody but was not charged.

Investigation then identified Payne as the ex-boyfriend, and he was charged with first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm. Bond was set at $50,000.

Anyone with information on Malik Payne’s whereabouts is asked to call their local police department or Detective Lubiewski, at 636-379-5664.
