O’Fallon Police Department Statistics: May 2018

New OFPD Patch

Since the police blotters that we’re now getting from the O’Fallon Police Department contain considerably less information than we’ve gotten in the past, 70 West Sentinel has decided to start posting additional information from the monthly incident reports that the department provides to the the city administrator.

The follow statistics are from May 2018.

Incident reports

Total incidents reported: 3,775

Ten highest reported incidents:

  1. Public service – 475
  2. Extra patrol – 381
  3. Suspicious circumstances – 377
  4. Follow up – 250
  5. Auto accident – 224
  6. Animal – 222
  7. Traffic service – 204
  8. Personal injury/sickness – 181
  9. Alarms – 150
  10. Prisoner transport/pickup/detail – 132

Twelve highest reported serious crimes:

  1. Stealing – 85 (includes 3 motor vehicle thefts)
  2. Domestic – 84
  3. Harassment – 44
  4. Property damage – 32
  5. Fraud – 30
  6. Assault – 18
  7. SWAT call out – 9
  8. Weapons offense – 6
  9. Burglary – 6
  10. Violate Missouri controlled substance law – 7
  11. Sex crimes – 3
  12. Runaway – 2

No reports were made involving murder or manslaughter, bomb threats, kidnapping, liquor law violations, or stalking.

Traffic Enforcement

During a total 1,212 traffic stops, officers issued 499 warnings and 796 tickets. 10 instances of driving while intoxicated/driving under the influence were reported. 148 vehicle accidents were reported.

Animal Control

Animal control officers issued 10 warnings and 19 tickets during a total of 192 calls. 35 cats and 17 dogs were taken to the kennel. 12 were claimed by owners, 10 were sent to foster homes, five were adopted, and five were sent to rescue organizations. Two dogs and one cat were euthanized. Sixteen bite cases were reported.
