O’Fallon Police Department Statistics: August 2018

New OFPD Patch

Police blotters supplied by the O’Fallon Police Department now contain considerably less information than we’ve gotten in the past. 70 West Sentinel will be posting additional information from the monthly incident reports that the department provides to the the city administrator.

The follow statistics are from August 2018.

Incident reports

Total incidents reported: 3,477

Ten highest reported incidents:

  1. Public service – 470
  2. Suspicious circumstances – 374
  3. Extra patrol – 297
  4. Auto accident – 249
  5. Follow up – 239
  6. Traffic service – 209
  7. Personal injury/sickness – 186
  8. Animal – 159
  9. Alarms – 132
  10. Prisoner Transport/Pickup/Detail – 117

Eight highest reported serious crimes:

  1. Stealing – 103
  2. Domestic – 89
  3. Fraud – 41
  4. Assault – 11
  5. Liquor law violation – 8
  6. Burglary – 5
  7. Child abuse/endangerment – 1
  8. Kidnapping – 1

 

Traffic Enforcement

From a total 1,538 traffic stops, officers issued 595 warnings and 1,050 tickets. Six incidents of driving while intoxicated/driving under the influence were reported. 159 vehicle accidents were reported, none of which were fatal.

Animal Control

Animal control officers issued one warning and five tickets during a total of 128 calls. 38 cats and 18 dogs were taken to the kennel. Nine were claimed by owners, 11 were sent to foster homes, 14 were adopted, and three were sent to rescue organizations. One dog and four cats were euthanized. Nine bite cases were reported.
