Joshua R. Johnson, 30, of O’Fallon, was fleeing a Warren County Sheriff’s Department officer Friday when he lost control and crashed, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Johnson was westbound on Highway M approaching Route H at 1:19 p.m. when he lost control of his 2004 Dodge Dakota.
The truck travelled through the T intersection and overturned after hitting a dirt embankment.
Three children who were passengers in the vehicle–a five-year old female, a seven-year-old male, and a male infant–sustained minor injuries and were transported to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. All the children, who were identified as Wright City residents, had safety devices in place.
Johnson also sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. It is unknown if he was wearing a safety device.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department was unavailable for further information about the police pursuit.
