O’Fallon Man Injured in Crash with Highway Patrol Car

A 31-year-old man from O’Fallon was injured in a crash with a Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle Friday afternoon.

The officer, who is from Weldon Spring, sustained minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Brent B. Buescher, 31, of O’Fallon, was westbound on Interstate 70 at the Highway 79 exit just before 12:30 p.m.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol SUV driven by Trooper Donald L. Bilyeu was entering the highway on the ramp from Highway 79.

Buescher changed lanes to the right and struck the patrol car, which spun off the right side of the road and hit the concrete barrier.

Buescher’s Honda Element spun off the road and hit the left side barrier. Buescher, who was not wearing a safety belt, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles.

Bilyeu sustained minor injuries and was taken to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis.
