The O’Fallon Police Department is playing host to the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 16 Field Trials and Certification on June 17 – 19, 2016. Events will be taking place at Fort Zumwalt North High School and Christian High School on Tom Ginnever Avenue in O’Fallon from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
Up to 40 canine teams will be competing in a variety of patrol dog tasks such as obedience and agility, suspect and article search skills, and criminal apprehension drills.
A special Family Fun Night will be held at Fort Zumwalt North from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, with a chance to see the police dogs up close and personal. Local first responders, including the St. Charles Country SWAT Van and the O’Fallon Fire Protection District will offer hands-on children’s activities, and a police K-9 demonstration will be featured at 6 p.m.
The events are open to the public, and admission and parking are free.

Zumwalt North will be firing blanks which sound identical to gunshots as part of the trials between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Please share this information with anyone who lives in the general area of Tom Ginnever and Cool Springs who may not follow us in social media. Thank you.”
