O’Fallon Driver Crashes into Pedestrian Fleeing Police in Warren County

A pedestrian fleeing police ran onto Interstate 70 in Warren County and into the path of a pickup truck driven by an O’Fallon man.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Leryan G. Lewis, 34, of Mexico, Missouri, ran onto the highway near the 202.4 mile marker and into the path of a 2008 Dodge Ram driven by Anthony J. Catanzaro, 38, of O’Fallon.

The incident occurred at 7:13 p.m. Saturday.

Lewis sustained moderate injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis.

Missouri Casenet shows that Lewis was found guilty to possession of a controlled substance in 2007 and sentenced to 6 years incarceration with the Missouri Department of Corrections. In 2014, he pled guilty to charges of driving while revoked/suspended and resisting arrest.

Catanzaro was not injured in the accident.
