Four fire fighters were injured while battling a fire that destroyed a home on Warrior Song Way in O’Fallon Wednesday night. The home, which is in the Osage Meadows subdivision, had no working smoke detectors.
According to the fire department, the home’s occupant woke up and was able to escape, sustaining minor injuries. The house was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
The intense heat damaged the siding of a neighboring home.
“Three firefighters were treated on the scene for heat related issues and released back to duty. A fourth firefighter is being treated for an injury sustained while battling the blaze and is expected to make a full recovery,” the O’Fallon Fire Protection district reported on its Facebook page.
The O’Fallon Fire Protection District was assisted by Central County Fire and Rescue, and the Wentzville Fire Protection District.
