Movie-Themed Trivia Night Helps Mother’s Club Fund Community Events

This year’s Lake Saint Louis Mother’s Club fundraiser will be a movie-themed trivia night. The “Red Carpet Trivia Nite” premiers at the Lake Saint Louis Community Association clubhouse at 6 p.m. on May 16.

The Mother’s Club, which is almost 39 years old, sponsors organized activities for children and families and raises money for family-centered community projects.

“The name has changed throughout the years, but the mission remains the same,” club representative Cynthia Madden told 70 West Sentinel.  “We bring families together by providing support, education, and social opportunities.”

The club’s yearly fundraiser allows the club to give back to the community, Madden said. They team up with Lake Saint Louis Parks and Recreation and the Meadows shopping center for events such as the Easter egg hunt, the Halloween party at Founder’s Park, Santa’s Workshop and the Fall Festival.

“We also give a scholarship to one high school recipient and donate to local community clubs as well,” Madden said.

The Mother’s Club is a diverse group, with members from surrounding communities as well as from Lake Saint Louis. The Club holds weekly themed playgroups and has monthly meetings every second Tuesday from September to May.

The Red Carpet Trivia Nite is the group’s first movie-themed trivia night. Participants are encouraged to decorate their tables and to costume as their favorite movie characters.

The event also features a silent auction with items such as a two-week camp at Andrew’s Academy valued at $500, a weekend in Branson, a $150 photo session, four hours of babysitting with a basket, a one-year membership at Hawk Ridge Dental valued at $350. A photographer will be available.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.lslmothersclub.com. Tickets are $20 in advance or $140 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $25. Popcorn, beer, soda and wine are included in the ticket cost and are available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and tipping the volunteer bartender is encouraged. Participants can bring their own food.
