Man in Chimpanzee Mask Robs O’Fallon Gas Station at Gunpoint

The O’Fallon Police Department released surveillance photos Monday morning of a suspect in a chimpanzee mask who robbed a Bryan Road gas station at gunpoint on Sunday.

The man entered the Midwest Petroleum gas station at 1060 Bryan Road at approximately 6:35 p.m. and announced a robbery, displaying a black semi-automatic handgun, police said. He ordered the clerk to empty both cash registers and fled on foot. The amount of money taken is unknown.

The suspect was described as less than 6 feet tall and having a slim build. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie style jacket, blue jeans, dark shoes and dark gloves with two stripes on them. The jacket could have a pattern on the back, or the suspect might have been wearing a green and white flannel shirt underneath it. He was carrying a drawstring bag with “STL” on it.12316260_1108170499223385_7077334873714830222_n

The clothing, along with the chimpanzee mask, are all unusual and notable, the police say.

Anyone with information on the suspect or who was in the store immediately prior to the robbery is asked to contact the O’Fallon Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section at 636-379-5003.
