Just a few days remain to get discounted tickets for Slide the City, O’Fallon’s giant water slide event on Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26. The 1,000-foot water slide will be located on Mexico Road near Fort Zumwalt West High School, and the event will also feature music, kids’ activities, vendor booths, food trucks and a beer garden.
Regular registration for the water slide, with a 10 percent discount code available on the event page on the O’Fallon City website, ends on Friday, July 17. Prices for single-, triple-, and unlimited slides go up $5 after that, and day-of-event admission prices go up another $5. Family passes are also available.
Eleven food trucks will be available in the West High parking lot during the Slide the City event, including Kona Ice, My Big Fat Greek Truck, Steak Louie, Slice of the Hill, and Sarah’s Cake Stop. Everyone is welcome to purchase food and drinks from the food trucks, no wristband purchase necessary.
A separate Kidz Zone near the starting end of the slide will offer special kids’ activities like the Tyke Track, Water Tag, and a Slip-N-Slide. Admission to the Kidz Zone is $5.
Picnic tables are available, and families can bring their own blankets or lawn chairs.
Special private cabana tents are available for rent during the event. The cabanas can seat as many as 20 people, and each one comes with a suite attendant, picnic table, food and beverages (soda, water, snacks and a lunch entrée). Cabana rental is $300 for a three-hour session, with sessions from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Call the Renaud Spirit Center at 636-474-2732 or the Parks office at 636-379-5606 to register.
