How long have you lived in Wentzville? 2.5 years
If you are challenging an incumbent, what qualifies you for the position more than the incumbent?
Decisions made and votes cast over the last two years have not always been in the best interest of the citizens of Wentzville, an example would be using city tax dollars to increase personal benefits not available to other part-time employees of the city.
What do you see as the single most important duty of an alderman?
An alderman’s responsibilities are to work with the citizens of his/her ward, other elected city officials, businesses, charitable organizations, and public services to develop policies that benefit the community.
Are you in favor of or against Wentzville adopting home rule? If in favor, what do you see as the biggest benefit of home rule?
I am in favor of adopting “home rule”, if this is a concept/initiative generated by the citizens of Wentzville. Home rule would allow for minimal interference from state government and increased autonomy for the City of Wentzville.
If against, what do you see as the biggest problem with home rule?
I am not in favor of “home rule” adoption if this is an attempt by a few elected officials to shift power from one elected office to themselves. The transition would be timely, costly, and needs to have oversight from within the community.
Which of the following municipal issues – business growth, residential growth, infrastructure, tax reductions, historic preservation, parks and recreation opportunities, home rule – do you feel it is important to address over the next five years? (Candidates were allowed to add their own.)
- Tax Reductions
- Business Growth
