Google just released a fascinating new feature called Timelapse, a slideshow of images from 1984 to 2016 for any geographic area you choose. It also allows the viewer to zoom in or move the image in any direction.
The Timelapse for western St. Charles County shows clearly the remarkable growth that the county has experienced over the last three decades, particularly in just the last few years.
This comparison of stills for 1984 and 2016 shows the Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis area.
As you watch the Timelapse slideshow, you can see as Wentzville Parkway, the GM plant, and all the different subdivisions appear.
A side-by-side of the O’Fallon area also shows incredible growth. The Timelapse slideshow clearly shows the development along the Highway K corridor and the phases of Highway 364 construction.
