Free Family Fishing Day Set for June 5 in Fort Zumwalt Park

The fish will be biting at freshly-stocked Lake Whetsel in Fort Zumwalt Park from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 5.

Kids ages 5 to 12 with their parents, grandparents or guardians are invited to sign up for a morning of catch-and-release fishing and family activities, free of charge. The event will be held at Lake Whetsel in Fort Zumwalt Park, 63366. The park entrance at 1000 Jessup Drive in O’Fallon (63366) is just off Veterans’ Memorial Parkway, about one mile west of Highway K.

Be sure to bring your own bait and tackle to participate. Free activities include worm races, a casting contest and a reel race, courtesy of O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department. No fishing license is required for ages 15 and under, or 65 and older.
