A four-vehicle chain reaction crash Monday afternoon sent two Wentzville residents to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 just east of Interstate 70.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 2002 Ford F350 driven by a 71-year-old man from Waterloo, IL was driving too fast for conditions. At about 3:50 p.m., the truck hit the back of a 1996 Saturn driven by a 26-year-old Wentzville man.
The impact caused the Saturn to hit a 2007 Honda Odyssey being driven by a 49-year-old woman from Wentzville, which in turn hit a 2001 Chevy Silverado being driven by a 53-year-old man from Troy.
The driver of the Saturn and an 11-year-old female who was a passenger in the Honda both sustained minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Both were wearing safety devices.
