A 43-acre site along Interstate 70 in Wentzville has been purchased by Urshan College, once known as the Gateway College of Evangelism.
The site, which was formerly occupied by CenturyLink, was purchased for $5.4 million, according to a press release from real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield. The firm originally planned to upgrade the five buildings on the site and offer them individually for sale or lease.
“As it turned out, Urshan College learned of the opportunity and decided they needed the entire campus to meet their long-term growth plans,” said Keith Schneider, Senior Director at Cushman & Wakefield.
According to the City of Wentzville, Urshan College is a Christian college owned and operated by the United Pentecostal Church International. Pending final approvals, the campus will offer classrooms, a student dormitory and various administrative offices. The college offers both Associate and Bachelor degree programs in general studies, Christian ministry, music, human services and communications.
The plan was given a thumbs-up by the city’s planning and zoning commission at their January meeting, and now goes to the Wentzville Board of Aldermen for final approval.
The campus is expected to be operational in 2019.
