Final exhibit continues through July at Lillian Yahn Gallery; Arts Council seeks new space

Expressions of Five Exhibit

“Expression of Five,” the final exhibit at the St. Charles County Arts Council‘s Lillian Yahn Gallery, showcases the work of five artists: Gail Schenk, Sue Althen, Jackie Horton, Candice Canessa, and Marsha Ralston. The works on display include painting, ceramics, jewelry, and multimedia.

An opening reception is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 6. The exhibit will run until July 31. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For the past ten years, the Lillian Yahn Gallery has been located at 7443 Village Center Drive in O’Fallon, in space provided by the St. Charles City-County Library District. The library district, however, is expanding the library next door and the Arts Council will no longer have the use of the space for the gallery and Arts Council offices.

“Over the years, the St. Charles County Arts Council has held many art exhibitions and programs supporting the arts and artists in our community,” the council said on their Facebook page. “We hope to continue our mission and secure a new space that is feasible, affordable and located in the area.

“Please help us in our effort by talking to neighbors, friends and the business community for help or donations. If you or someone you know would like to help out, please leave us a message at (636) 561-0028, or email us at stcharlescountyart@gmail.com.”
