Wentzville police were able to return a lost child to his home today – with the help of the family pet.
Assistant Chief Paul West confirmed to the Sentinel that the child, a 3-year-old male, was found after apparently crossing Prospect Road accompanied only by the family dog.
Officers went door-to-door to find the child’s home, but had no luck until officers scanned the dog for a microchip. The microchip provided an address, where the police were able to take the child and return him to his parents.
70 West Sentinel will post more information when it becomes available.
