Employee Pleads Guilty to Stealing from O’Fallon Business

Clifford Reeves

An O’Fallon man who pled guilty to charges of stealing from his employer last February has been sentenced to five years in prison.

According to court documents, Clifford John Reeves III, of the 6000 block of Fox Oak Lane, tried to make a fraudulent return while an employee of Bill’s Service Center.

When the return failed, Reeves’ two partners took three chainsaws and fled, and Reeves gave police incorrect information about the chain saws so that they wouldn’t be identified when they were pawned. Reeves also admitted to taking cash from the business and also forging a document for the rental of a piece of equipment worth $6,756.

Reeves admitted that the crimes were committed to fund a drug habit.

Reeves’ five-year sentence will run concurrently with three other five-year sentences he received after pleading guilty to stealing and forgery in a March 3 incident in St. Peters.
